Colin Towns’ new band, Blue Touch Paper, released their debut album 'Stand Well Back' in the UK during March 2012, turning heads and prompting ecstatic reviews. Formed in 2010 with German and UK musicians, the writing/recording took two years to complete. Their new album 'Drawing Breath', released October 2013, continues the Blue Touch Paper soundscape, with elements of jazz, rock, electronic and classical music once again demonstrating an adventurous, visionary and powerful way forward.

Blue Touch Paper has no barriers. They follow the simple fact that there is only good or bad music. So this is not a band to be labelled.
“My structured German mind tries to put it into boxes but doesn’t succeed” - Benny Greb.
"Colin’s music is optical music, it takes you on a trip….the challenge of this band is to play without fear” - Stephan Maass.
Blue Touch Paper launched in Germany at 2011's Berlin Jazz Festival. They launched in the UK at Kings Place in London in March 2012 and toured the UK in May culminating in a performance at ElbJazz Fest in Hamburg. They toured the UK again in February 2014.
